Give the Gift of...a Donut?

By Julie Worthington, Reporter

You've heard of bar crawls and food walking tours, but have you heard of the infamous donut crawl in NYC? Yes, it exists! And, thanks to brilliant tour guides like Missy, it’s very fun as a group of donut connoisseurs wander about the city in search of the best bite.

A total of four donut places are visited during the Underground Donut Tours of NYC, and each place has delectable delights ready and waiting to be delved into. On the tour, you will get to try donuts with chocolate frosting and cream, passion fruit donuts, cronuts (a donut that's part croissant), and an everything donut. This is a donut with a cream cheese glaze and the toppings you might find on an everything bagel. Very clever!

There is about a two-mile distance covered while visiting each donut location, so be sure to wear a great pair of walking shoes. Also, there is the option to stop at restrooms along the way, but it's probably best to make a potty run before you get started. The guide also gives a lot of information about the history of the city, including fun facts about The Empire State Building and Grand Central Terminal, along with details behind each donut shop visited.

The tour starts at the Eataly near 23rd Street and ends up in Greenwich Village. If you travel outside of NYC, you can also find these tours in Boston, Chicago, Nashville, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Portland, and Seattle.

Tours require reservations.

To sign up for a spot, go to their website and booking page.

Each ticket is $50. Enquire further at their toll-free number: 844-366-8848.
