The 2025 NY Travel & Adventure Show brought together wanderlust-filled travelers, industry experts, and world-class exhibitors under one roof for an exciting celebration of exploration and connection. This year's event showcased a vibrant mix of destinations, cultures, and travel innovations. From interactive exhibits to captivating cultural performances, there was something for everyone at the show.
The NY Travel & Adventure Show is an annual event that has become a must-attend for travel enthusiasts and industry professionals alike. It provides a unique platform for travelers to discover new destinations, learn about different cultures, and connect with like-minded individuals who share a love of exploring the world.
One of the highlights of the event was the Destination Theater, where visitors had the opportunity to attend engaging seminars by renowned travel experts. These speakers shared their personal experiences and provided insider tips on how to make the most out of any trip. Topics ranged from budget-friendly travel to off-the-beaten-path adventures, catering to all types. Attendees left the seminars feeling inspired and armed with valuable knowledge to plan their next adventure.

In addition to educational seminars, the show also featured a Taste of Travel Theater where attendees could sample delicious dishes from around the world. From traditional Mexican tacos to spicy Indian curries, there was no shortage of flavors to tantalize taste buds. This immersive experience allowed visitors to get a taste (literally) of different cultures and helped them discover new cuisines they may not have tried otherwise.
The excitement continued at the Global Beats Stage, where lively performances from various cultural groups kept the energy high throughout the event. Attendees were able to witness traditional dances, music, and other forms of entertainment from different countries, adding a vibrant and festive atmosphere to the show.
In addition to all the fun and learning opportunities, the Travel & Adventure Show also provided numerous networking opportunities for industry professionals. This allowed them to connect with potential partners, establish new business relationships, and stay up-to-date on the latest trends in the travel industry.

KEY WEST PAVILION
Interview with Jordan Upchurch
WON: Tell me about what you're doing here!
Jordan: I work with the local LGBT Chamber in Key West, and today, we’re here to represent the destination. We’re sharing the rich history of Key West’s connection to the LGBT community, as well as highlighting its reputation as a beautiful, warm, and welcoming place to visit.
WON: Why do you think it's important, in your own words, why is it important people know these specific safe zones that they can travel to?
Jordan: In today's world, it's more important than ever for destinations with safe spaces and welcoming communities to proudly promote themselves and let people know they’re inclusive. Queer individuals want to vacation in places where they feel accepted, and Key West is exactly that. Our community is home to many LGBTQ+ individuals who live harmoniously with their neighbors, creating an environment that’s both inclusive and inviting. This makes Key West a truly special destination for visitors seeking acceptance and a sense of belonging.
WON: If you have one, what is your favorite place you've ever traveled to?
Jordan: Aside from Key West, I’d say Sitges in Spain is another unforgettable destination. Interestingly enough, it reminds me a lot of Key West. Sitges is a charming coastal town about 40 miles outside of Barcelona, known for its vibrant atmosphere. It’s packed with restaurants and bars, and impressively, this quaint village of just 30,000 residents boasts 22 gay bars.
When I visited, many people referred to Sitges as the "Mecca of gay travel in Europe," and it’s easy to see why. What made it even more special for me was the international crowd—it felt like a global gathering. I was one of only a handful of Americans there, surrounded by people from France, Australia, and countless other countries. It was an incredible experience meeting people from all over the world in such a lively, welcoming place.
WON: What's your favorite part about Key West?
Jordan: I love the sense of community and the laid-back island vibes. Being able to head out on the water whenever I want is such a gift. Whether it's visiting a sandbar, diving in to snorkel, or spotting marine life like fish, stingrays, dolphins, and sea turtles, every moment feels magical.
TOURS BY LOCALS
Interview with Sara Cooke
WON: So you guys work for tours by locals, so you tell me a little about what you guys do?
Sara: We are an online marketplace designed to connect travelers with local tour guides, making it easy to book private tours anywhere in the world. Operating in over 170 countries, our platform ensures that no matter where your journey takes you, you can discover unique local experiences with ease.
WON: Why do you think it's important that people come to travel conventions like this to get information?
Sara: It’s because they discover ideas for things they didn’t even know to search for, isn’t it? When you’re looking for something online, you only find what you’re specifically searching for. But here, as you stroll through the aisles, you’re exposed to new possibilities—things you might never have realized you needed.
WON: What do you think it's important that people travel in general?
Sara: Our mission is to help people forge deeper, more meaningful connections with the places they visit. We achieve this by focusing on authentic local experiences. When people take the time to understand others, the world becomes a better place. By embracing new experiences—immersing yourself in different sights, sounds, cultures, and beliefs—you open the door to personal growth and become a more well-rounded individual.
WON: Where's your favorite place that you've ever traveled? if you have one, or one place that you want to go?
Sara: My favorite place is usually wherever I’ve been most recently, but a trip to South Africa a few years ago truly stands out. I’m eager to return to Africa someday. There’s nothing quite like the experience of a safari, and Cape Town’s charm left a lasting impression on me as well.
