Cell Service in Subway Tunnels

There are several projects underway to improve our city and the latest one that most commuters will be happy with is: cell phone service in underground tunnels. The MTA has put forth a 10-year plan that permits riders to utilize their cell phone while in tunnels.

The iconic Penn Station that stretches through midtown and oversees all the traffic from the Amtrak, Subway, and LIRR finally got a renovation. Not to mention that Penn Station neighbors the pride of New York: Madison Square Garden. NY State agreed to supply funding to the Penn Station project in which it has been met with mixed feelings from New Yorkers. What exactly happened to Penn Station?

The most transformed area in all of New York City, Hudson Yards,  houses the High-Line, modern avant garde architecture, and overlooks the west side. However, it wasn’t always a popular tourist spot as its evolution contains an eventful and complex  400-year history that is unexpected. So how did Hudson yards go from dull to the most advanced area of NY?

It seems as if everything in our daily lives is slowly moving to a digital format. Payments can be made with one click of a phone- paying the meter for car parking can be done with an app- apple pay makes having even a wallet redundant- and transportation and delivery apps have made even physical movement unnecessary.
